Kennesaw: Where It Is Illegal Not To Have A Gun

This is a must read my friend…

“The only people dumb enough to argue with the facts are tyrants and their useful idiots.”  de Andréa 2018.

Most every citizen of the United States of America is incrementally losing their “right to keep and bear arms” still protected by the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. But did you know that there is a small town in Georgia where the majority of the citizens do keep and bear arms? Not only that, in Kennesaw, Georgia, it’s the law to keep and bear arms?

Since May 1, 1982 it’s been the law in Kennesaw that every homeowner in the city must own a gun.

They don’t have GUN FREE ZONES in Kennesaw. Moreover, they don’t have school shootings either.

The Kennesaw gun ordinance states:
Sec. 34-21. Heads of households must maintain firearms.

a) In order to provide for the emergency management of the city, and further in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants, every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefore.
b) Exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who suffer a physical or mental disability, which would prohibit them from using such a firearm. Further exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who are paupers or who conscientiously oppose maintaining firearms as a result of beliefs or religious doctrine, or persons convicted of a felony (www.kennesaw-ga.gov).

Since 1982 I have been keeping a close eye on Kennesaw, so I would look in on this model city every now and again.  I had all but forgot what went on in the little Georgia town, when yesterday an email crossed my desk that read… Georgia town with mandatory gun ownership gets CNN airtime”.  Click on it and read it for yourself.

I can only guess why it took more than 30 years for the Communist News Network to pick up the story even though it is now known all over the world. Could it be because the facts fly in the face of gun control laws and confiscation, yeah ya-all think?  Naw!

And so what was the result of this mandatory 2nd Amendment law in this small town in Georgia for the past 30 years. First I’ll tell you that the Nay Sayers said that there would be blood in the streets, turning Kennesaw into the ‘Wild, Wild West’.  Even though if you do just a little research yourself, you will find that the murders per 100.000 in the 1800’s when most carried a gun, were considerably lower than they are now. Well…there wasn’t blood in the streets of Kennesaw, and no shootouts at the corral.

Yes you guessed right, when this law was originally passed, the opposition argued that this would simply put a lot of guns on the streets, with everyone running around shooting each other and grudges would be settled as if it were the old west or Chicago or sumthin.
The opposition clearly focused on the negatives and ignored the truth of why this law was put into place.

The Kennesaw Gun Law was not created to create violence, it was created to defend against violence, but only when absolutely necessary. In fact, Section 34-22 in the Kennesaw Code of Ordinances clearly states, “No person shall fire a gun, pistol or other firearm in the city, except in the defense of a person or property, and except peace officers or military forces of this state or the United States, in the discharge of official duties.”

But the interesting part of this story is that the results of passing this law were actually very positive, with statistics showing that after the law was passed, the “burglary rate in Kennesaw declined and today, more than 30 years later the City still has the lowest overall crime rate per-capita in Cobb County Georgia” (www.kennesaw-ga.gov). And murders are almost nonexistent and are the lowest in the country. Just looking at crime data since 1999, Kennesaw only had four murders through 2011 (most recent data) (www.city-data.com/crime/crime-Kennesaw-Georgia.html).

Prior to the passing of the Kennesaw Mandatory Gun Law, Kennesaw’s crime rate was actually approximately 20% higher than nationally, with an average of (4,332 per 100,000, while the national average was 3,899 per 100,000). But according to statistics in 2005, the rate in Kennesaw had dropped to 2,027 per 100,000, more than a 50% drop, all while the population exploded form 5,242 to 28,189, more than 500% increase. And why did that happen you ask? Because it is the safest city in the country.

These facts would seem to answer all the questions whether the enactment of the Kennesaw Gun Law actually helped reduce the crime rate by making it mandatory that citizens have a gun in their homes. Unless of course one has become a useful idiot of Nazi tyranny. Contrary to what some people expected, this law has been a great safety measure for the city and the people of Kennesaw for the past 30 years. And it could be helpful in the rest of the country as well. Go ahead, check out the stats for yourself here!

THE BOTTOM LINE: There is another interesting little bit of research that you can do yourself. Check the gun crime stats of the City of Chicago (where one cannot even purchase a gun and if you defend your life with one you’re looking at jail time,) against the gun crime stats in the entire state of Vermont, (where there never has been and are no gun laws at all.) Yep you can legally carry a loaded gun down main street Vermont. And as a result - Vermont has the lowest gun crime per-capita in the country.  What criminal in their right mind would commit a gun crime in a state where nearly every law abiding citizen is armed.  No they go to states like Connecticut and Florida where they have GUN FREE ZONES!

Watch what happens in a GUN ZONE!      The only victim is the perpetrator
