The Value Of
History

In the wake of Charlottesville,
the
South continues the destruction of a part of American history they don’t like.
Democrat
hate -America gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams has called for the removal
of history in the form of the giant carving that depicts three Confederate war
leaders on the face of state-owned Stone Mountain, saying it “remains
a blight on our state and should be removed. We must never celebrate those who
defended slavery and tried to destroy the union,” Abrams said in a
series of tweets posted early Tuesday, in response to the deadly violence committed
by white supremacist groups but was actually ignited by the city counsel of
Charlottesville.
Akin to book burning they are removing the faces of
Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson. If all this destruction of American history
is allowed to go forward soon we will have to contend with the removal of the
faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abe Lincoln
from Mt Rushmore because eventually someone is going say “It reminds us of that terrible Free Constitutional Republic.” And then of course all the records of these
great men of history will have to be erased from all the history books now in
use.
Communist Lawmakers and so-called civil rights groups have
called for the removal of Confederate symbols at the memorial for years. After
the 2015 shooting deaths of nine black worshipers by a white supremacist in
Charleston, several legislators pushed for a boycott until Rebel flags at the
site came down.
Georgia leaders have embraced recent changes to distance
the state from its Rebel history.
Gov. Nathan Deal quietly struck Confederate Memorial Day from the state’s official holiday
calendar and
removed the statue of a segregationist leader from the state grounds.
State-issued license plates featuring the Rebel emblem have been altered, though only slightly. Statues and paintings of Confederate
leaders in the statehouse are facing fresh criticism. And the state is set to
unveil a statue of Martin Luther King Jr. outside the Capitol this month. But
Martin Luther King was a womanizer, wont we have to tear that down as
well? When will we learn to love and
accept America warts and all?
Four high-profile Republicans are in the race, and several
were critical of Abrams stance. Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle said the state has taken “great
strides” to add exhibits that give a more inclusive view of the Civil War. “Instead of dividing Georgians with
inflammatory rhetoric for political gain,” he said, “we
should work together to add to our history, not take away from it.”
“
Those who cannot remember the past are
condemned to repeat it." (George Santayana)
Or Edmund Burke said it this way - “Those
who don't know history are doomed to repeat it.”
And how about Sir Winston Churchill who said. “The further back one
looks, the further forward one can see.”
“My reading of history convinces me that most
bad government results from too much government.” Thomas
Jefferson
And Abraham Lincoln once said, “The
philosophy of the classroom in one generation will be the philosophy of
government in the next.”
THE BOTTOM LINE:
Well…If anyone knows anything about the value of history, they know that the
purpose of history is not to “… celebrate those who defended slavery and tried to
destroy the union,” as the brainwashed ill-informed candidate for governor Stacey
Abrams so ignorantly expressed.
History is not a
celebration of anything, it is rather the only way one can
learn from ones past mistakes. It is the
only way a free people can navigate safely from the past to the future.
The destruction of historical statues and monuments is
tantamount to the burning of history books my friend.
In 1931 Joseph Stalin burned the history of Russia, today
Russia continues to make the same mistakes it did in its history. in 1933 Adolph Hitler burned the History of
Germany so Germany is continuing to remain vulnerable to tyranny in the form of
Islam, in 2015 Islam began destroying the history of the Middle East by tearing
down historical statues, monuments and buildings that were thousands of years
old wiping away any remnant of life before Islam, and in 2016 the hate America
Deep State began burning confederate flags, renaming streets, tearing down statues
and the History of the United States. If
we do not remember the lessons of the Civil War, eventually the entire country
will be thrown into the slavery of tyranny.
Beginning with the Confederate flag and now with the
demolition of statues and monuments, the next step is to burn the Civil War
from American history books all in preparation for the mass slavery of
despotism.
Tearing down
monuments and statues, scrubbing names from street signs, burning flags, burning
books or rewriting history, will not make the distasteful past go away, it will
only cause us to repeat it in some other form…
Thanks for listening. Now go do the right thing and fight for truth and freedom.
