Chicago's Bloodbath Is Proof Of Gun Control Failure

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

Chicago's Bloodbath Is Proof Of Gun Control Failure

There is a large minority of ignorant Americans that fall into several categories.  Most of them are in politics of some kind, I guess because they are not suited to do any other kind of real work.

One, they think they are smarter than the architects of the US Constitution.
Two, they are just lazy low information robots.
Three, they are brainwashed by the communist media.
Four, they have never developed the ability to think logically or reasonably.
Five, they have never had an original thought.
Six, they are mentally challenged.
Seven, they are blind to the truth.
Eight, they believe anything the government and the main stream media says.
Nine, they are criminally insane.

The previous list is just a few of the several possibilities that will eventually destroy this once Constitutional Representative Republic.

The citizens of the United States were once on the top of the list of the most educated intelligent people in the world, and at least they had the intelligence that God gave a mule.  Maybe it’s just that 40 percent of the nation smokes just a little too many funny cigarettes or something, I don’t know.   But there is obviously something nefarious going on here.  Adult Americans are becoming dumber than a sixth grader.

Following what the Chicago Tribune is calling the deadliest weekend so far this year, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms today said, “the continued bloody slaughter of people in the streets of Chicago is proof that the city’s strict gun control laws are an abject failure.”  This same approach to safety has been tried relentlessly since the early 1900’s and although it has always failed, it is tried again and again, and it continues to have the opposite of the desired effect.   At least that is the way it appears.  The only other motive for this insanity is that it is purposely done because safety isn’t really the objective.
In the city of Chicago, at least 17 people died of gunshot wounds over just this past weekend, bringing the year’s death toll of gun deaths there, to more than 638 people. So far this year, more than 3,660 people have been shot in the Windy City, and two full months still remain.  This rivals some cities in the Middle East that are under siege.

“This continuing savagery in a city whose leaders stubbornly resist every attempt to reform its restrictive gun laws, which only discourage and disarm law-abiding citizens, is a testament to the failure of gun control,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb.

More than a year ago, a study by their own University of Chicago’s Crime Lab revealed the truth about criminals and guns that seems to have been ignored by officials who adhere to the city’s failed policies. That survey, taken among Cook County Jail inmates, revealed that they do not get their firearms from gun shows or Internet sales, and most definitely not from commercial firearms dealers.

Video blowing away the lie of the Gun-show loophole. (Some objectionable language.)
“More than two-thirds of these offenders got their guns from family, friends, fellow gang members, or they stole them,” Gottlieb recalled. “These people can’t obtain guns via legal means, and the existing restrictions don’t prevent them from being armed. Criminals can’t get a Firearm Owner’s Identity Card, and they darn sure can’t get a concealed carry permit.”

“Our sympathies go to the families of all the innocent victims of this carnage, and to the good citizens who must live in constant fear because gun control laws make it hard for them to have the tools to fight back,” he added. “Maybe it’s time for Chicago leaders to take a lesson from Milwaukee County, Wisconsin Sheriff David Clarke of Brevard County, Florida Sheriff Wayne Ivey, or even Detroit Police Chief James Craig. They’ve encouraged their citizens to be legally armed as a deterrent to violent crime.”

“Does Chicago want to curb the violence and empower its citizens to fight back,” Gottlieb challenged, “or does the city want to stay the present course? Haven’t enough people been sacrificed on the altar of gun control?”

On the other side of the coin where there are the least anti-gun laws there is also the least gun violence.  Example Washington DC, after Heller and the relaxing of the virtual gun ban, the gun violence went down sharply by the end of the first year and has been declining every year since.  The State of Vermont that has never Known gun control, has the lowest gun violence in the Nation over the last 50 years.  Arizona, Alaska and several other states have followed suite and we are watching their decline in gun deaths as well.   Over the past 45 years as the sales of fire arms Increased, the deaths by gun crime has declined at the same rate.

THE BOTTOM LINE:   Before the ‘Heller v Washington DC’ decision by the US Supreme Court, Washington DC was the murder capital of the U.S. sometimes of the world.  But since the Supreme Court decision that Americans have the right to keep and bear arms a decision that should go without saying since it is a constitutional right, the city of Chicago Ill is now the murder capital of the U.S. While there are gun shops in the city, one cannot buy a gun within the city limits of Chicago. Gun shops sell only supplies and gun related accessories such as holsters, magazines, cleaning kits etc. One must go the smaller towns surrounding the city to buy a gun. Some will ask for a driver’s license to check addresses and won’t sell to a Chicago resident out of fear that should it be used in a crime because there might be charges of responsibility.

And then there are all the laws restricting the possession and the handling of a gun, that citizens are even afraid of defending themselves with a gun if they have one.  Personally I would rather be judged by 12 than be carried by 6. But then - that’s just me.

So while there isn’t an outright illegal gun ban in the city of Chicago it is so very difficult for a law abiding citizen to purchase one that most just give up. On the other hand criminals can easily get a gun illegally on the street and that identifies the problem.  Gun laws don’t stop crime they only make it difficult or imposable for law abiding citizens to stay - law abiding, or in the case of Chicago, to stay alive!

Earlier in the article I wrote “The only other motive for this insanity is that it is purposely done because safety isn’t really the objective.”  Maybe this is the ultimate objective….

Thanks for listening my friend!  Now go do the right thing.  What’s this? Send a copy of this article to all the representatives you have, both state and Federal.
