Freedom of the Press

Freedom of the Press
How does’ Obama control the media?  George Orwell said, “In a time of universal deceit, the truth is a revolutionary act”.  A revolutionary act!  In other words’, one could start a revolution over “just words”.

Cyril Connolly who died in 1974 said, “It is better to write for oneself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self.”

To me, freedom of the press means that journalists should pursue truth at any cost, regardless of their own political orientation or the consequences.  I have been doing that for more years than I care to remember, and have suffered for it.  I have had my life and the lives of my family threatened by the terrorist organization CAIR the Counsel on American Islamic Relations.  I have been threatened by the FBI for exposing their cozy relationship with CAIR and other terrorist groups.  At one time I lost half my subscribers because of my stand on Islam.  But I have to agree with Cyril Connolly when he said, “It is better to write for oneself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self.”  And as far the threats on my life CAIR…as they say, “show me wha’cha got,” but you had better bring an army…

Political journalists should be allowed—by the government, and by their publishers, but also by their readership—to write pieces that peel back the layers of Washington, revealing the muscles and organs that allow our government to function.  If there is a sickness inside the body of our country, it is the journalist’s duty to show it to the world no matter how bloody it might be.  Unfortunately, many mainstream media publications have religiously fallen into lockstep with the Social Communist leftist, only allowing pieces that line up with their agendas.  If a journalists steps outside the box of the Liberal Socialist agenda, they are locked away, or blacklisted and never heard from again.

Just such a thing is happening to a writer right now.  The Chattanooga, Tenn. Times [so-called] Free Press, just fired writer Drew Johnson for penning an op-ed piece entitled President Obama’s  policies have harmed Chattanooga enough,” despite the fact that the editorial was true and widely read,  The Times Free Press claims that Johnson was fired because he violated the Times’ headline writing policy.  I read the article, and found nothing offensive or more importantly - untrue in its content.  If you’d like to read it for yourself, here it is.  After reading the article you might want to contact the editor of The Chattanooga, Tenn. Times [so-called] Free Press, and let them know what you think of their actions against Drew Johnson and the violation of his First Amendment rights.  I asked them what is so “free” about their so-called “Free Press” if they fire their writing staff for printing the truth.

So, what do we have here?  We have a journalist/op-ed columnist who wrote a scathing but true article against the President, and was fired.  We have a publisher that claims he was fired because he violated headline writing policy.  Something doesn’t smell right here.  The fact that Drew Johnson was fired so soon after penning his negative Obama piece, and the ridiculous reason given to explain his termination, leads any independent thinker to suspect that Johnson was fired just because he went against Obama’s agenda.  Naw…say it ain’t so!  What does that mean for us my friend?  What it means is that we are living in a nation where freedom of the press is being beaten to death, slowly but surely.  This should be obvious to those who have even the weakest observational skills, but it always bears reminding.  The press is supposed to be our friend.  What happens when it turns against us?  Well…then we become the enemy.  Freedom of the press is a form of freedom of speech.  With press freedom slowly melting away and disappearing into the waste of unread history, what is next on the chopping block my friend?  What will go first: freedom of religion, assembly, or speech?  Once one domino has been knocked over, the others must soon fall as well.  If we do nothing, we must prepare to fall.

Edmund Burke once said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil… is for good men to do nothing."

What we need, are "A Few Good Men”…
